I was raised in northern British Columbia, Canada, right at the base of the beautiful Hudson Bay Mountains. Each summer, my sisters and brothers and I would climb up Hudson Bay mountain to a glacier. My sister, Shelley, had the great idea of taking Kool-Aid packages and we found a perfectly round crevasse that was filled with sparkling green-blue water. She poured the Kool-Aid in and we dipped our cups and had the most refreshing summer drink you could every hope for.

I loved the mountains. And I loved telling stories. I imagined mysteries, funny stories, crazy stories, and even won awards as a child for my story telling.

Now I love to write about mountains, and other cultures. I’ve learned a lot from my friends in other countries.

They have the same problems we do. Like: do people really like me? Can I fit in? What if someone is bullying me? Do I have to forgive bullies?
